Israel or Diaspora
Key differences between the Israeli and Diaspora calendars: Yom Tov Sheini Shel Galuyot (Pesach 7-8 vs. just 7 in Israel, two days of Shavuot vs. one, Simchat Torah after Shemini Atzeret in the Diaspora vs. combined in Israel). Otot handles all of this automatically based on your selection.
Frequently asked questions
Israel-only or Diaspora calendar?
Toggle in Settings. Main difference: Yom Tov Sheini in the Diaspora (Pesach 1-2 + 7-8 vs. Israel's 1 + 7, Shemini Atzeret + Simchat Torah on separate days vs. together in Israel, etc.).
Does it show minor dates like Pesach Sheni?
Yes. All minor dates are marked: Pesach Sheni (14 Iyar), Lag BaOmer, Tu B'Av, Yom Yerushalayim, Yom Ha'atzmaut, Yom HaZikaron. Each can be toggled off independently.
Can I export to Apple Calendar / Google Calendar?
Yes. Settings include a subscription URL you can add to iOS / macOS Calendar or Google Calendar. It updates automatically with all holidays and fasts for the upcoming year.
Is the Hebrew date shown everywhere in the app?
Yes. Every screen in Otot shows the Hebrew date next to the Gregorian, so you always know where you are in the calendar. You can choose which one is primary.
