Frequently asked questions
How do I change nusach?
In Settings under "Nusach" you can choose between Ashkenaz, Sefard, and Edot HaMizrach. The change applies immediately to the siddur and brachot.
How do I add a location for zmanim?
On the home screen, tap your current location to open the location picker. You can pick a city from the list or enable automatic GPS detection. All calculations run on-device.
Is there an Android version?
Yes. Otot is available on both the App Store and Google Play. Both versions are developed in parallel, share the same zmanim engine (kosher-zmanim), and ship identical content (full Tehilim, three-nusach siddur).
Does the app work offline?
Yes. Otot is designed to work fully offline. The siddur, tehilim, zmanim, and calendar are all computed on-device.
How do I report a bug?
Via the contact form on this page, or by email to info@otot-siddur.com. If possible, include what happened and on which screen.
Is there a dark mode?
Yes. The app supports light and dark mode, and follows your device setting automatically.
How do I delete my data?
Because nothing is stored on a server, removing the app from your device deletes all of your data. There is no deletion request to file: there is no server holding you.
Does the app cost money?
Otot is free to download and use. If we ever offer paid features in the future, they will be clearly marked and will not touch the core prayers.
Which devices are supported?
iPhones running iOS 14 or later, and Android devices on Android 7 or later.
How do I get prayer time notifications?
In Settings under "Notifications" you can enable reminders for each prayer (Shacharit, Mincha, Maariv) as well as candle lighting, Havdalah, and Sefirat HaOmer. Notifications are generated locally, with no remote server needed.
